Hi all, I think it is actually most often the operator having a bad day. The civilian GPS systems we use are no longer subject to selective availability. And modern phones and recreational GPS units now communicate with five GPS systems of different nations, all at once. USA (GPS), Russian (Glonass), European (Galileo), Indian, and Japanese. They are unlikely to all have a bad day at once. I suspect people sometimes forget to save their waypoint on the spot, then it saves later, on another location, when they shut their app down.

Hi JodieR, thanks for your sighting. It looks like the location information you provided is incorrect. This can occur if the GPS sensor in your device was having a bad day. Please review and update the location of this record when you get a chance.
Which is weird, since I think it was OK when I first looked at this sighting.
